Hi, I'm Hannah

I'm a writer from Shrewsbury, near the Shropshire Hills (a.k.a the real life shire – Tolkien said so!) and, as so many writers do, I grew up reading. I'm sure I owned more books than toys when I was little, many of them being tales of folklore and magic, so it's no surprise that the fantasy genre now feels like home.

Growing up, I often dreamed of becoming a writer, dabbling with a few stories here and there, but I never really took it seriously. It wasn't until my early twenties, when I fully felt the pressure to decide on a path in life, that I found my way to editing fiction. After several training courses and a few clients under my belt, I decided to get a degree in creative writing, thinking that being a better writer would make me a better editor, too.

And it did. The only catch was that I fell completely in love with my own fictional worlds – not my clients' stories. I had finally learnt how to build on my ideas and flesh them out into living, breathing tales on the page.

When I'm not writing, I can usually be found working part time at my local sixth form, singing and performing with my choir, or snuggled up with my latest knitting project.
